Having been in the UAE for almost 10 years now , I had never been to Al Ain , probably one of the 2 emirates I haven’t been to yet so when I was looking for a stay cation place for myself, my mom who is visiting us and the kids somewhere close to a never been place before , I found- Danat Al Ain Resort . Google maps showed it being only 1.5 hours away from home which was a winner, considering we have a 3.5 year old and a 1 year old travelling with us.
We immediately took this option booked ourselves a Oasis Deluxe King Room ( AED 450 with breakfast) at Danat Al Ain Resort (www.alain.danathotels.com). We packed the kids with a bag and some nick nacks and drove off. We reached the hotel in 1 hour -40 minutes, there was no traffic on the roads and it was a very pleasant drive
Check-in: The hotel seemed really packed, probably as we went on a long weekend . I didn’t have to wait too long for the check in , the staff at the reception were friendly and seemed eager to do a swift check in to clear the queues. She quickly briefed us about all the facilities that the hotel entails and briefly explained us the cuisines that each restaurant specializes in and what we must try while in the property.
I loved the interiors of the hotel lobby, something about the lobby looked like it was a palace turned into a hotel, very regal, lit up, spacious along with a wave of natural light seeping throughout the lobby
The Room: We asked for twin beds in the room and I was marveled at the size of the room.It didn’t have a claustrophobic feeling in spite of having 2 beds . There was a lot of room for the kids to play around / crawl, a lovely arm chair and table in one corner and a beautiful view from the balcony as seen below. The lovely beige, white, brown, goldish color used in the rooms made it seem so cozy and warm. The washroom was extremely neat and clean and it had a jet spray( something I always miss in some hotels)
The room is well equipped with a super-fast WiFi connection, large wardrobes to fit all your luggage in , hair dryer, bathrobes ,slippers, tv, cable, personal safe ,snack and bites to nibble on
Tour : Once we had settled the kids, we went to take a quick tour of the hotel and loved the details that had been taken care while furnishing the hotel, choosing the right colors, the marble, the furniture , everything was just so apt. I would not change anything about the decor of the hotel. I was amazed at the size of the resort , it has so many restaurants and bars to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay to the maximum
- The Horse and Jockey Pub
- Tea Lounge
- Oasis Pool Bar
- Oasis Cafe
Pool Time : As you would be aware by now, we are a water family and love to be in the pool , including the one year old:). As we walked to the pool area, I couldn’t believe what I saw . I had to count the number of pools I saw in front of my eyes. There were at least 3 pools if I counted right. Little Z couldn’t wait to get into the kids pool which was a covered one . It had a few water falls, slides a which was one of the main attractions for her. She straight headed there followed by little M.
I started to explore the place a little and found that Danat Al Ain Resort is a proud owner of a Olympic-sized pool which is something that all swimmers enjoy. The pool is temperature controlled at over 40 Celsius and you can see people doing their laps , ensuring they make the most of this luxury not very easy to find in a lot of hotels around . Once done with the pool, we soaked some sun lazing on the sunbeds and ordered a few drinks from the oasis pool bar.
Dining- We had reserved a table at the very famous Tanjore- Indian dining restaurant for dinner. I had heard a few friends recommend this place and wanted to make sure we dont miss out the on the great food served here . I wasn’t disappointed at all right from the first second. The decor of this place is so rustic, palatial , raw yet so classy . It had an amazing feel good factor.
We were greeted by some very friendly staff who showed us to our table . We ordered some of the classic Indian food like black dal, chicken kadai, chicken biryani, paneer tikka masala and a basket of bread.
The food was absolutely outstanding . Extremely delish, delectable and rich tasting food .Post our very heavy dinner , we stopped at the tea lounge for a cup of tea to fell a bit lighter and make sure we sleep well.
Rise and Shine at Arabesque: Arabesque boasts of a wonderful international cuisine. We had our lunch here after we arrived and then our breakfast the next morning. The breakfast spread has everything from an interactive egg station, bread and cheese counters, to hot stations there was something for everyone. The wide spread of breakfast instantly took my breath away. Eggs, Bacon, beans, mushrooms, variety of breads, cereal, fruits, and a lot of choices , something for everyone!!
Spa: Danat Al Ain Resort has a beautiful Body and Soul Recreational Club with a spa. I chose the 45 minutes Ayurveda massage to get rid of the tiredness that comes very naturally in your body when you have 2 kids under the age of 4 . The attendant was a pro and worked on all my knots and the right spots to ensure I leave the spa feeling fresher than ever. This is a must for all women , men as well who visit the resort. Here I am sipping my tea after a luxurious massage
Check out: The lovely and every smiling staff took care of our check out very swiftly as we were in a bit of a rush!. Once we checked out we went back to Arabesque to have our lunch and the food was outstanding. Leaving a few pics of the rich, tasty, variety of food we consumed
(+) Great Resort for a family outing, lovely food, great staff, a lot of activities can be planned from the hotel like city tour, safari, etc . The biggest plus point is it is a great place to sepnd some quality time with loved ones, under 2 hours in distance but at the same time makes you feel like you are away from the city
(-) A bit crowded for my liking, but then as I stated earlier , it could have been a due to the long weekend
